Law Practice Group represents clients in all aspects of labor
and employment law matters.
The Group is involved in all aspects of the employment relationship,
commencing with the preparation of employment policies, personnel
manuals, and educational materials for companies in a wide variety
of public and private industries, including health care, agricultural,
high-tech, banking, insurance, and retail industries, as well as
for public agencies.
The Group's members are involved in the preparation of employment
agreements and related documents, creating and reviewing handbooks
and manuals for use in the workplace, and auditing workplace practices
to assess compliance with the complicated network of federal and
state laws and regulations which govern the workplace.
The Group also provides counseling and representation
at all stages of the employment process, from recruitment and hiring
to termination, and is available to respond to issues and concerns
as they arise on a day-to-day basis in order to minimize the risk
of litigation in the future.
The Group further provides advice and counseling in connection with
balancing the protection and preservation of trade secrets with the
employment rights of individuals.
The Group prides itself on keeping its clients current on the ever-changing
laws governing the workplace and the employment relationship, through
its newsletter and through periodic on-site seminars. Members of
the Group also speak frequently at seminars and industry meetings,
addressing current topics in the employment arena.
The Group's members handle administrative hearings, arbitration,
and litigation in both state and federal court. The Group's
attorneys have extensive experience in handling wage and hour claims,
unemployment insurance claims, wrongful discharge and other tort
claims, all categories of discrimination claims, sexual harassment
claims, and trade secret disputes, as well as many other types of
claims which may arise in the employment context.
The Group's attorneys represent clients in disputes and litigation
which arise from the employment context, whether involving employees
or independent contractors.
