1948
Santa Barbara County suffers a severe drought. Price, Heckendorff and other civic leaders launch a campaign for the construction of a new reservoir on the Santa Ynez River.

1949
Santa Barbara voters approve the construction of Bradbury Dam, creating Lake Cachuma. The dam is completed in 1953 and spills for the first time in 1958.

1951
The firm hires Lillian Fish, one of the first women to practice law in Santa Barbara. Fish remains with the firm for the next 23 years.

1952
The firm celebrates its 100th anniversary.

Price publishes Law Practice Management, which becomes a standard textbook for operating a law office.

1953
John Heaney passes away. The firm changes its name from Heaney, Price, Postel & Parma to Price, Postel & Parma.

1954
Price and co-author William Elison publish The Life And Adventures in California of Don Agustin Janssens.

Cameron Rogers publishes Charles Fernald, A County Judge In Arcady.


Price is elected El Presidente of the Old Spanish Days Fiesta.

1955
The Santa Barbara Foundation confers its "Man of the Year" award on Price.
