Founded by a frontier sheriff and judge in 1852, Price, Postel & Parma is California’s oldest law firm. A commitment to public service has always been deep ingrained in our firm culture. Price, Postel & Parma has been a part of many of the most important events to take place in Santa Barbara over the last 150 years and will continue to be, today and into the future.

The Price, Postel & Parma History Blog Highlights.

1852 - Charles Fernald accepts the job of first Sheriff of Santa Barbara and helps to bring order to a lawless frontier town.

1925 - After a severe earthquake destroys downtown Santa Barbara, Price Postel & Parma opens for business as usual on the front lawn of the Lobero Theater.

1949 - Santa Barbara experiences multi-year drought. Price, Postel & Parma help to pass the construction of Bradbury Dam, creating Lake Cachuma.

1975 - Firm partner Francis Price, Jr., announces that he has purchased the El Mirasol block in Santa Barbara for an anonymous donor who wishes to give the land to the City as a park. The name the park today? Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens.

1985 - The Mission Rose Garden is renamed the "A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden" in honor of Postel.
